I used to be able to download YouTube videos back in 2007 and 2008 with no problem by going to the activity button on safari but it has become harder now.

If you just want an mp3 or song from a youtube video, you could use www.video2mp3.net. On the website, you simply copy the URL from the youtube video, and paste it where it asks for it and it will create an mp3 audio file out of it ... If you want the full video, type "Youtube Downloader Free" into google and the first link should probably have it. It is an application for either mac or pc that enables you to download youtube videos to your computer for free! If you have trouble figuring out how to use the Youtube Downloader (though you probably won't... it's fairly simple), there are plenty of youtube videos showing how to use it. Open Safari's Activity window (Option+Command+A) and double click on the video file (this will be the large file... several MB's). It is easiest to locate this file while the video is still loading.



This *should* download the file into your Downloads folder as video_____.swf. I forget the name of the file exactly, but you can look at your Downloads window to find out.



Convert from .swf to .m4v or .mov using an app like HandBrake or similar.
I got the easiest solution for you. All you need to do is copy the video url and replace youtube with keeptube.



So instead of youtube.com , replace it with keeptube.com
